Adebayor Leaving ?

Will he or won't he? I for one believe Ade should go, especially if the 25 million pound figure is accurate. Arsenal have plenty of firepower available even if a replacement is not brought in and I hope this money( if it comes) is used for the quality DM we need to push on. If Ade buckled down and put in the effort he would be a player worth keeping but I do not believe he would do it now. The salary being offered by the newly rich Manchester City is just too good to turn down. His head was turned by Milan last summer and will probably never get straight again in an Arsenal shirt.

The Preseason gets underway at Barnet on Saturday. I am looking forward to see our players getting a runout, particularly Eduardo and Rosicky. We have plenty of attacking options, adding those two to the mix just makes us that more potent. We may get our first look at Vermaelen. I hope he gives us the defensive strength we sorely need and set up a good partnership with our other CB's.

Just 30 days to our first league match. Bring it on.

Adebayor Leaving ?

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

Hello,

I am an Arsenal supporter of thirty-nine years standing. I remain as committed a fan as I have been since the day in 1970 when I knew Arsenal was the football club for me.

In just over six weeks we will be embarking on our latest adventure. The signing of Vermaelen was a good start. With a couple more additions - a defensive midfield enforcer and another central defender we will be ready to challenge on all fronts.
We have numerous options in our attacking midfielders . There is depth upfront with the likes of Van Persie, Adebayor, Bendtner, Vela, Walcott and the expected return to full fitness of Eduardo.
Hopefully we will have better luck with injuries this time around. A fit Rosicky would be an enormous plus.

This is my first post. In the days to come I will be making more comments. I am optimistic of our club's chances of challenging on all fronts. However I will not hesitate to comment on player performances and committment, team selection, tactics, etc.

Keep the faith.

Cheers,

Gooner Ken
